“Maybe that one…” The vixen pointed towards a rather hardy looking branch. It rested upon the grassy forest floor just waiting to be picked. She carefully bent down and picked it up.

“Stand back.” She warned them as she balanced herself. She pointed the possible wand towards a tree, ready to give it another shot in hopes of finally finding the right wand. She took a deep breath and focused once more, attempting to use another ember attack. Everything seemed to be going right, although just as all the other attempts she had made, this one failed as well. It blew up in her paws, staining her yellow coat with ashes. She hunched her back, allowing her arms to hang loosely from her body as she sighed.

“Ugh, I’ll never find the right one…” The fox whined.

“We should not give up just yet. Maybe you should try to find a bigger one.” The Sneasel suggested as he leaned by a tree behind her.

“It’s no use. They all just end up exploding! I don’t wanna be a Braixen anymore…” The fox pulled on the puffy skirt-like fur that grew on her waist. It was easy for him to say that. He was not the one that had to repeatedly hope the next twig would not explode on his face.

“Well, there is no turning back.” Yue shrugged. He stood from his leaning posture and walked off on another direction.

Dawn turned her head towards him as he walked away. “Huh? Where are you going? Don’t just leave me here!” She huffed; flailing her arms as she nearly lost her balance.

“You can stay there if you want. I will bring you some more twigs to try out.” The Sneasel said, raising his tone the further he walked away from her. The little Fletchling followed after him, willing to help as well.

“You too…?” She grunted, watching as the two of them traveled away from her. She sat down afterwards with a little huff, pawing at the ground to see what she could find. She would at least entertain herself while they were away.

She felt a small, stubby object brush against her pad. Immediately as she felt it, she picked it up. Seeing that it was a pebble she was tempted to toss it. Something about rocks always made a person want to throw it as far as they could. It was good way to pass the time, so she threw it as hard as she could. The pebble was flung at an impressive distance in the fox’s mind. She could never throw things so well with her old arms. She just had to do it again!

She quickly rummaged the ground around her for another pebble, and quickly tossed it away as she found one. She basked in the length of her throw, feeling rather impressed with herself for doing so. She looked down at her paws afterwards. “Maybe this isn’t so bad…” She uttered before a strange low growling sound caught her attention. She looked towards the direction she had tossed the pebble towards and noticed a large body rising by the shrubbery it landed in.
