Description

Warm colors filled the tree home's insides as the first sign of daylight filtered through the house's slightly opened window. The opening was enough for a small creature to sneak its way inside. A creature as small as a Fletchling in fact, like the one that was creeping through it right now.

After squeezing its way through the window the bird immediately flew towards the Braixen that slept inside, all huddled up in her hay bed. It landed by her side with a continuous bout of loud chirps. Quite loud for a bird as small as itself. It was hard for the fox to ignore. She attempted to turn away from the noise, though no amount of tossing and turning would quiet it. It was about now that she would expect her partner to angrily wake up and shoo the flying type as always, but surprisingly this time he was quiet.

"Yue...?" She murmured, having yet to open her eyes and look at the Sneasel. It was strange. She had never seen her partner be so calm after having his sleep be interrupted so abruptly. Even stranger it was that she received no reply. Something was wrong. She had to open her eyes and see what was going on.

Nothing... There was nothing more than an empty hay bed laying beside her. Now she remembered how it had been like that for days. Right... He was gone…

She gritted her teeth to keep herself from breaking down again, then looked at the Fletchling that still cried beside her. "I'm awake... You can stop now." She yawned, patting the little bird's soft feathery head. She then heaved herself into a sitting position, releasing her breath in one long sigh before she got up. Her nails clicked against the wooden planked flooring as she would then walk over to the table.

"How many days has it been? Weeks?" She mumbled, looking at the window as she held onto her arms. She had not left the house since that day. She had barely even eaten. Whatever energy she had was thanks to the berries the Fletchling would bring to her every now and then. She missed the sun's warmth upon her hide and she could no longer cope with herself just moping around. It was time now to go outside. Maybe... Just maybe she would spot a sign of his... She hoped.

Outside the house everything seemed just as it had been left before she locked herself away. She peeked out the door with disappointment. Suddenly her desire to leave the house began to disappear. That was until a certain sign took her attention. On her mailbox she could see its flag raised up high, alerting the house's residents to the mail. Her ears perked up high as she jolted towards it. She pushed the flag down and immediately took the mail in her paws, hoping to spot the Sneasel's messy handwriting somewhere in it.

Once again, disappointment reigned upon her expression. She was about to toss the mail away, but another thing caught her attention. The explorer’s symbol was pasted on one of the letters. She raised the parchment closer towards her gaze and quickly opened it.

"Basalt Halls dungeon exploration...Tomorrow, huh...?"

Yeah, I'll try to have this one done before the deadline. The entire written part is done, now I just have to make a drawing for each part...

I don't think you made Dawn suffer enough. Hopefully this exploration will tear her even further... Basalt Halls... Yeah, seems like a good starting point.
